I keep track of my dreams.
I think about my dreams.
I talk about my dreams.
I talk with others about their dreams.
This is the foundation of understanding your dreams.
There are no secrets to dreaming, except the ones undiscovered within your dreams
The untold stories, the deep insights woven into the tapestry of your nightly dreams, these are the dreams for your life and they are your story.
The ‘your story' call is heavily associated with marketing as a hook that might not always be sincere, but in the case of your dreams, it is true.
Your dreams really are part of the story of your life, and that life is your story, informing your day to day, those closest to you and on some occasions everybody, if you pay attention.
I have done this at every chance that comes along in my life and so my dreams have become incredibly useful to me, but also useful to others. After all these years I still observe the same base practice and it works, and the more I do it the more it works, the more results it produces the more I keep doing it.
This is why it is foundational.
If you still think your dreams have no value, Imagine this:
You have arrived in a foreign country on holiday.
You are driving from the airport to your hotel in a taxi. The drive is about a half an hour, it is a relaxing drive after such a long flight.
On the way you gaze out the passenger window observing many advertisements and billboards along the route. Many have pictures of people, places and things.
They images are self evident. Yet you do not fully understand the messages as they are written in a foreign language.
They are memorable but confusing, as if the messages are encrypted, and as each one drifts, you see the imagery but you are not sure what they are trying to tell or sell you beyond what the images suggestively portray.
Does this seem a lot like your dreams?
Your dreams come to you on your journey of sleep. You remember some or all of them but what you see does not make sense even though the imagery is recognisable - what value is that you might ask yourself?
Just like the foreign advertisements written in a different language, all you need to do is learn the local language and you will understand those advertising messages, and probably discover the message are not worth much after all the effort.
It is the same for your dreams, with one exception, the messages are for you.
If you learn the language of your dreams you open a door to the beginnings of understanding the messages contained within each one, you may then think, speak , make connections or take actions based on a dream message once you have unencrypted it, but you must first be able to read your own dreams beyond the incredible imagery and adventures that speed on by.
First things first - I keep track of my dreams.
Start with paying attention by keeping track of your dreams and this way your ability to read the currently encrypted dream message unfolds.
